Grab your mat and head outside — all summer long, Vesterhavsyoga offers beach yoga by the sea and the fjord in Hvide Sande and Søndervig. Feel the sand beneath your feet, the wind on your skin, and the sound of the waves all around you. Everyone is welcome, no matter your level, age, or background.

Join us on 5 June for a Grundlovsdag (Constitution Day) service unlike any other — held in the working heart of Hvide Sande's fishing harbour, with a well-known Danish artist providing the music and free coffee and home-baked treats to follow.

Around the Fjord is a 105 km cycling race around Ringkøbing Fjord, with starting points in Skjern, Bork, Hvide Sande and Ringkøbing. The race is for both experienced cyclists and casual riders.

At the end of June and into early July, ART56° welcomes Angelica Vanasse – a visual and participatory artist whose practice is rooted in nature, creativity and the spaces where communities come alive. Her open studio is exactly that: open. Come as you are, stay as long as you like, and see what unfolds.

Week 28 means one thing in Hvide Sande: Æ Hawfest. Boldklubben Klitten brings the whole town to life with music, activities and great company — from a flea market and kids' day to the legendary local revue and a proper end-of-week dance party.

This midsummer, tapestry artist Benthe Ibsen takes up residence at ART56°, weaving her love of the west Jutland landscape into gobelins of wool, linen and silk. Every Sunday in July and August, as well as one Sunday in October Experience the heart of the fishing village beating in time with the waves! Join us at our exciting tourist fish auction in Hvide Sande, where you can bid on fresh catches straight from the sea.

At the end of July, German photographer Grit Dörre takes up residence at ART56°, bringing her camera and her instinct for what hides inside the light. For Grit, photography is neither document nor decoration – it's pure light painting, and deliberate stillness. Open studio Saturday to Wednesday – come and see the world through her lens.

Bag a bargain! On five Saturdays in August, Kirkens Korshær is opening up its lawn and car park to a brand-new market concept that Hvide Sande has been waiting for: the Suitcase Market, where private sellers trade from their car boots, open suitcases and makeshift tables — and your next great find could be just around the corner.

In August, Hvide Sande Church welcomes visitors to four special tourist services featuring community singing, music, and simultaneous translation into German. An international church experience in the heart of the summer holidays.

This year's edition of Art in the Sluice places the coast at the centre — not as backdrop, but as condition. Four artists explore coastline, erosion and climate in one of the West Coast's most extraordinary exhibition spaces: the service corridor beneath the drainage sluice in Hvide Sande. When Jazz Dippers kick off Jazz Days '26 on Monday, August 3rd at the outdoor stage on Stormgade, you're guaranteed good vibes. The popular orchestra delivers classics from New Orleans to Denmark – and it's all free for everyone.

Meet Denmark's most infectious street parade band as Groove Parade rolls into Stormgade for Jazz-dage in Hvide Sande. They don't just play to a crowd; they play through it, moving at street level and pulling everyone into the music.

On Wednesday 5 August, Wild Stompers bring the Jazz-dage stage on Stormgade in Hvide Sande to life: a North Jutland trio rooted in the swing of the 1920s and 30s, taking audiences on a musical journey back to jazz's golden age. Come and dance!

Jazz-dage '26 close out in style as award-winning folk quintet Som Os takes the stage on Stormgade on Thursday 6 August at 2 pm. Free entry, fresh sea air and folk music at eye level: the perfect finale to a whole week of harbour music in Hvide Sande.

This August, Britta Enemark Olsen opens her studio doors at ART56°, spending two weeks painting the kind of social-realist oil paintings that draw you into the pulse of everyday life – from the west coast of Denmark to the streets of Mexico City and Havana.

Every year in August, Hvide Sande welcomes visitors to a week of classical music at the Late Summer Festival. 

In August, fine art photographer Betina Hastoft returns to Hvide Sande – the place where she has spent years collecting shells along the wild North Sea coast. At ART56° she opens up their hidden universe through her lens and her series HAVET: a tribute to the gifts of the sea that deserve more than a life forgotten in a drawer.

WATERZ is Scandinavia's largest water sports festival with activities and competitions for everyone in windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing, wakeboarding, SUP and kayak.

This September, visual artist Lars Kristian Hansen takes up residence at ART56°, bringing an abstract expressionist practice where every painting is a new story – never a recipe. This October, Jesper Graakjær from Skjern brings the 2026 season at ART56° to a close – a life in art that has wound from a pig farm and a draper's shop to life drawing at Aarhus Academy of Fine Arts and paintings that emerge from the happy accidents of paint on canvas. One of the year's most beloved traditions. The arrival of the Christmas ship is more than just an event – it's the moment when the Christmas spirit truly takes hold of Hvide Sande.

Most people know the New Year tradition of jumping off a chair and into the new year. Again this year in Søndervig it is possible to turn the traditional small jump into a big cold splash - with a jump directly into the North Sea.

In 2027 too, you can visit ART56° and meet rotating artists-in-residence, who for 14 days at a time have the opportunity to present their works and share their artistic practice in the open studio.

Three days of herring, fishing contests and community spirit – the Hvide Sande Herring Festival is back from 23–25 April 2027. Live music, smoked herring, kids' activities and a moped show are just some of the highlights as the harbour town celebrates its beloved herring heritage.
