Fiskeriets Hus
See the fish and experience the history of fishing and Hvide Sande
At Fiskeriets Hus, children of all ages can see, experience and learn about the history of fishing and Hvide Sande. In the aquariums you can see a number of the fish that live in the waters around Hvide Sande and are still landed in the town.

Hvide Sande came into being as a town and fishing port after the opening of the drainage sluice back in 1931. Fiskeriets Hus tells the story of the creation of the small local community, about fjord fishing and fishing at sea, about the development of tourism, and gives you the stories behind the Hvide Sande you know today.

In the basement you’ll find a paddling pool for the younger ones and saltwater aquariums with North Sea fish species such as turbot, sole and plaice. You can also experience the beautiful shark fish, and exciting species such as eels and eels up close.
