Parking

Hvide Sande is a busy town, and around public holidays—and especially during the summer—the streets are packed. Fortunately, most of the shops and places to eat are concentrated around the harbour, and the south pier is also within walking distance. If you park in one place, you can easily get around the streets, the harbour, and to the beach on foot.

The most ideal place to park centrally in Hvide Sande is the large parking areas out by the fjord, at the end of Beddingsvej. From here, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the shops at the harbour, or north across the lock to the Sports Fishing Centre and Troldbjerg.

Other good parking options are at the Tourist Office, in Mamrelund, on the lock island in front of Café Gaflen, at the ice plant and at the south beach, and north of the lock at Fiskeriets Hus.

On the hottest summer days, it can be difficult to find a parking space at the south beach, which is why it is recommended to park at the church and walk to the beach along Vestergade.

Charging stations for you,

who drive an electric car

Today, there are a number of publicly accessible fast chargers in Hvide Sande:

  • By Center Nord on Parallelvej
  • In the car park at Fiskeriets Hus
  • In the car park between Søndergade and Mamrelund
  • Centrally, by Helligåndskirken

In addition, there are many EV charging stations and wallboxes in town—for example at Byens Autocenter, at Feriepartner’s owners’ workshop on Numitvej, at Café Gaflen on the lock island. A nd more are being added all the time.

You’ll also find wallboxes at some of the holiday homes and holiday apartments rented out through the holiday home agencies in Hvide Sande. If you drive an electric car, it can make good sense to rent a holiday place where you can charge the car overnight, when electricity is typically cheapest.
