Abeline’s Farm
Step into a little West Jutland time capsule
At Abeline’s Farm, you’re taken back to the early 1900s and life on one of the many beach warden farms along Denmark’s west coast. This is where the beach warden lived, and it was also where shipwrecked sailors stayed overnight if their ship had run aground.

Abeline’s Farm is one of the best-preserved four-wing dune farms along Holmsland Klit.

Abeline moved in in 1890 when she married beach warden Laurids. From 1904 until her death in 1957, she ran the farm herself—supported by income from the annual summer guests.

Explore the farm’s many small, maze-like rooms, peek into the alcoves where shipwrecked sailors—and later summer guests—spent the night, and make yourself comfortable in one of the old sitting rooms while you enjoy delicious cake and good coffee served in Madam Blå.

Experience the old lifeboat station

Next to Abeline’s Farm is a lifeboat station with a boathouse, rocket house and telephone shed. It is the old Haurvig Lifeboat Station, which during its active years rescued 64 shipwrecked people.
