Trine Kent (b. 1976) paints light and life with a rare sense of presence. Her canvases – landscapes, portraits, glimpses of contemporary life – are built up in layers of intense colour that somehow manage to feel both restful and alive at the same time.
She grew up in the landscape of Odsherred in Denmark, and after years of travel and study, she returned to the nature she knows by heart. That landscape runs through much of her work – not as a backdrop, but as something breathing and essential. Alongside the natural world, her paintings carry traces of the present moment, small signs that remind us we are here, now, in this particular time and place.
Trine's work stirs memories, sparks new stories and casts fresh light on the surroundings we too often take for granted. Come and see for yourself.
